For 32 years, the Lilburn Woman's Club has played a dynamic role in our community.  The LWC, with its theme emphasizing "Community Concern," has enriched the lives of many.  At both a local and global level, members of the Women's Club have donated many hours of service.  The LWC addresses the emerging needs of the community by means of six departments: Arts, Conservation, Education, Home Life, International Affairs, and Public Affairs.  Together, they work diligently to improve the City of Lilburn.

Members volunteer for many philanthropic organizations including: the Dream House for Medically Fragile Children, Hi-Hope Service Center, Camp Promise, the American Cancer Society, Child Reach, Operation Smile, Operation Christmas Child, CARE, UNICEF, and many others.

Lilburn Woman's Club members also work at the grassroots level for community improvement.  They contribute supplies to the Lilburn Cooperative Ministries; the new roof at the historical Wynne Russell house is due in part to LWC efforts.  Members also frequently collect toiletries and other items for patients at the local VA Hospital.

As a group, LWC volunteers at the Hudgens Center for the Arts, and at the Children's Art Museum.  Each spring, members sponsor "Spring into Art," a juried children's art show, showcasing the artwork of local elementary school children.  This years "Best of Show" winner's artwork is on display in City Hall.  In the fall, the LWC Art department sponsors a middle school photography contest, a high school senior all-media art contest, and an elementary middle and senior high school writing contest.  Applications can be obtained from the art teachers at Lilburn schools.

LWC members were present for the opening of Lilburn City Park and continue to be involved with park renovations.  Several club members serve on the Park Planning and Renovation Committee.  They are involved with a special project promoting the sale of City Park Commemorative Bricks for the park walkway.  For more information on purchasing a brick, an order form is available at http://www.cityoflilburn.com or call 770-921-2210.

Members also assisted with the "Summer Happenings in the Park" featuring the Lilburn Idol contest and several family movies on the lawn.

To help fund their community and humanitarian projects, the LWC has organized the "Lilburn Daze Arts Festival" each year for the last three decades.  The festival features something for every family member including arts, crafts, delicious food, music and dancing and children's play area and much more.  Thousands of people from all over the state attend this fun-filled activity every year to help the Lilburn Woman's Club continue its tradition of community service.
